OBLHS' SPRING RETREAT, APRIL 2005 IN THE SOUTHPORT AREA

Attended by 68 members and almost as many locals, including USCG Auxiliary members, and town officials, the OBLHS's 2nd Spring Retreat was a huge hit!

This year's event centered around Oak Island, Southport and Bald Head Island, NC and was largely made possible by our local friends and members, Judy and Gary Studer of Caswell Beach, Randy Jones of the Department of Tourism in Southport, and Anne Mills, Executive Director of the Old Baldy Foundation. We all experienced open arms and warm hospitality wherever we went.

One highlight and much anticipated activity was a walking tour of Price's Creek which was brought about through much work and the grace of good weather. OBLHS became the first group ever granted permission since the property has been in the private hands of Archer Daniel Midland, and it's hoped that this will open the door for other groups.
