Mabry O'Donnell
Mabry says that her resume looks as if she has spent her entire life in the hallowed halls of ivy, but she enjoys her consulting with businesses and traveling to the Outer Banks. As the coach of one of the most successful small school speech teams in the region, she understands the power of communication and the necessity of asking questions. Dr. O’Donnell has been awarded every academic prize at Marietta College, some more than once. She was chosen as the Outstanding Forensic Association Educator in Ohio, and has received the E. R. Nichols award as the Outstanding Speech Instructor in the Nation. Mabry is a consummate people watcher. She brings to our board her love of people, her attention to detail, and her ability to laugh. Mabry is a charter member and works as Secretary with her husband Jim for OBLHS.

Shirin Pagels
Shirin (pronounced Shi-reen) is the Membership Chair of OBLHS. She hails from Severna Park, Maryland, and now lives in Norwalk, Connecticut where she is a scientist at Boehringer Ingleheim. She also served as a research assistant for the American Health Foundation for two years. To say that Shirin is very active in the lighthouse community is an understatement. She serves on the Board of Directors of the New England Lighthouse Lovers, and began her term as President on October 9, 2004. She was a past newsletter editor for the Long Island Chapter USLHS, and works as a tour guide at Sandy Hook Lighthouse for the New Jersey Lighthouse Society. She also actively volunteers for the Chesapeake Chapter USLHS. When she’s not working, Shirin does beautiful lighthouse photography, and the photos of lights that include flora have become her signature. |
